Felanitx is a rural municipality in the Pla & Llevant region, southeast of Mallorca with a population of 17,300 people. Close to the capital of Palma, this municipality is the center of the second largest wine region in Mallorca.
This municipality apart from relying on tourism is well known for the cultivation of capers, which is a popular local ingredient in Mallorca. Like many other areas of the island, the wine industry has experienced great development in the municipality.
