Arta is a small town located northeast of Mallorca on the hills of Llevant. It is near the countryside and close to many different beaches. This municipality is in high-demand by the Germans. The number of German businesses in the area is considerable.
This municipality is perfect for those who want to live in a small urban center but with all the essential services. The market organized in Artá on Tuesdays and its theater with the large marquee are both highly recommended.
The village of Arta is mainly characterized by its small winding streets and narrow alleys with stone houses. Many of its properties have been renovated and an interesting feature is the green colour of the downtown houses.
The main attraction downtown is the parochial church, Transfiguració del Senyor and the battlements that surround it. Nearby is the Talayotic city of Ses Paisses, Sa Canova and the Franciscan Baroque style convent Sant Antoni de Pàdua.
Due to the geographical layout North of the island, Artà is far from the international schools, the closest one is 50 minutes away. Even so, it is easily accessible through the different highways of the island which is a good way to explore the less commercialized areas of the East coast of Mallorca.
The prices of the properties in town depend on the renovations the properties have undergone. Similarly, you can calculate around 1 million euros for a fully renovated property in the heart of Artà.
There are several luxury estates around the municipality. A modern high-end property might cost from 3 to 4 million euros. This area consists of mainly rustic properties, renovated or reformed.
