Capdepera is a small mountain town, with just over 11,000 inhabitants, full of history and tradition. It is near the most famous touristic resort of Cala Ratjada but Capdepera is less explored by the tourists of the island.
It is a walled town whose original fortifying stones spread out and make up the construction of the outlying neighbourhood houses. In this way, you can see the castle of the fourteenth century, called ‘Castell de Capdepera’, a tourist attraction of the municipality.
Capdepera is an area eclipsed by touristic complexes in its vicinity that sell sunny and beach-filled holidays. At the moment it is a residential town, with its majority inhabited by Mallorcan residents and few foreigners.
This municipality has every service. It is a perfect place to shop in its wide variety of stores and also the little market that takes place on Wednesdays. If you want to make larger purchases instead, you can go to the town of Artá.
Capdepera is the perfect town to explore while walking. After admiring the historical architecture, you can discover other parts of the island, especially the coastline. In this area, you can enjoy a wide variety of water sports at the many beach resorts.
As mentioned before, this municipality is not especially touristy, it is still a residential town where the majority of its population are Mallorcan. There are two different zones, the properties in downtown are limited by the land which is why they are smaller traditional homes.
In the surroundings you can find any type of property, such as modern apartments and chalets. A little further away, you can find virtually any type of property, including modern apartments and chalets. This area has a wide range of prices, ranging from 100,000 euros for a basic apartment, up to 8 million euros or more for a design villa or rancho.
