Properties for sale in Alcudia

The municipality of Alcudia is located in the Northern part of the Mallorca Island and has a population of about 20,000 inhabitants. It is located 60 km from the capital of Palma de Mallorca.

This city is loaded with history and its old town is still one of the main spots within the city. The walled Alcúdia has become small for all the inhabitants who live there and the population has expanded through different houses built on the outskirts of the medieval city.

Like a good medieval city with a wall surrounding it, it is still possible to see its three doors. The three doors were originally; the Porta des Moll, the Porta de Mallorca and the Porta de la Vila Roja.

Within the old town there are the largest religious buildings of Alcúdia. The Church of San Jaume, the Chapel of Sant Cristo and the Parish Museum are some of the monuments that can be found in this area.

But that’s not everything, within this historical center there is the Roman City of Pollentia with its spectacular Forum and Theater.

Alcudia also stands out for its more than 30 kilometers of coastline. Here you will find beautiful beaches of fine sand, steep cliffs and hidden coves of great beauty. The Bay of Alcudia stands out the most.

The Alcanada Beach is also one of the most outstanding beaches of the municipality. It has sand mixed with ridges and a length of two hundred meters. The most characteristic feature is the small island of Alcanada, with the lighthouse which can be reached walking or swimming, as the water is very shallow.

The nature awareness in Alcúdia is another feature of the city. In the surroundings of the city there are wonderful natural reserves and protected areas. Among them, there is the Victoria Protected Area, located on the peninsula that separates the two bays and where the mountains and peaks Puig de la Victoria and Puig del Romaní stand out.

They are also committed to animal fauna. The S’Albufereta Natural Reserve of Alcudia is a meeting point for migratory birds, which makes this spot of special interest for observation.

Although, if you are fond of sports, more specifically golf, you may want to live near the Alcanada golf course. The golf course in Alcúdia is an 18-hole course with full service to enjoy throughout the year.

The area of Alcudia offers you the opportunity to live in its oldest part, the medieval city surrounded by walls. If you wish to wake up smelling the sea, you can treat yourself living near the bays a  little further away from downtown, or if you are a golf lover, by living a few meters from one of the courses.
